Star Wars TIE Fighter

Lane has been studying the letter "H" at school the past couple of weeks and one of his projects was to make something out of a Hat! So, Lane being the boy he is wanted to do something with the Star Wars theme. Since Daddy was into Star Wars when he was little, (actually he still is), he was able to come up with the idea of doing Darth Vader's TIE Fighter. So off to Michaels we went to gather items to try and make this project a hit! We all worked for several hours and I think it turned out pretty good!

Here is the TIE Fighter we were trying to make.

Here is Lane's TIE Fighter!

Here is the top and back view.

Here is Darth Vader inside.

Mom made me put it on for a picture!

Lane was anxious to get to school to see what all of his friends would think of his creation. As we walked into his classroom all of the kids said "Wow Lane, that's awesome". He turned around and smiled at me and then said "yeah I know I worked really hard on this project." It was so funny because he was so proud. Of course I walked out with a big smile on my face too!!

Lane's Big Breakfast

This morning before I got out of bed Lane came and got in bed with me and told me that he had made breakfast for him and Bella. I thought to myself, "oh my goodness, I hope the kitchen is not a wreck." Then I went back to being a Mom and said "wow Lane that was so nice of you." He then grabbed my phone and took off. He came back to bed and said, "see Mom, I took a picture of it for you." He had taken two paper whale bowls and put a cup of oranges in one for him and a cup of applesauce in another for Bella. Then he strategically laid a napkin by each one along with a spoon for Bella and a fork for him. He was so sweet!!

Let's dig in!

MMM this is pretty yummy!

Mommy would you like to wear your hat today?

Good, because I wanted to wear it. Check out my sideview, Do I look okay?

Oh I'm so excited I look so cool and trendy! Let's go shopping!

Still Alive - Back in Action!!

Yes, I know, I know it has been a long time... but we are all still alive and things are starting to level out. For those of you you don't know by now, we sold our house back in August after being on the market for only 3 weeks!! This was a huge blessing but on the other hand we were not prepared to move out that fast. We have since moved in with Connie and John (Scott's parents) and have lived with them since August 4th. We are in the process of building a home in Graystone Hills off of Longmire in Conroe. It has been so stressful picking everything out for the house but as of yesterday that is all over. We are finally done and should see things start to pick up very quickly. So blogging has been on the back burner. I will try to catch up with pictures throughout the next couple of weeks.
So to start off we just returned from a ski trip to Winter Park, Colorado with our friends Travis and Kay. We had a wonderful snow filled trip as you will see!

One of the days we decided to go tubing on a mountain. It was so much fun, except for when Travis took off with all four of us connected and my feet weren't all the way out of the tube yet!!

This is Twabis drivin' the mini! Safety First!!! Scott and Travis loved this souped up Chrysler Minivan. They pushed every button know to man in the mini and bragged about how awesome it was. Kay and I were sure that by the end of the trip one of us was going to end up with a new minivan in our driveway. Luckily for us that hasn't happened yet.

Kay and I made it to the bottom of the mountain by skiing Village Way all the way to the bottom. Did I mention that Twabis took us (he says he was an accident) down a blue. Yeah not so much fun, I have a bruise to prove it.

Scott and I all done at the bottom of the mountain.

We stayed in a Condo and this was the view from our bedroom window when we woke up every morning. It was absolutely beautiful.

This was our last day in Winter Park and instead of skiing Kay and I froze our tail feathers off when we decided to ride the gondola and go shopping!

Our last day there we all went to the spa (for the second time) and Scott and I had our first facials. We loved it! We also decided to drive on into Denver for the night because the weather was starting to get bad and we didn't want to get stuck on the mountain. We stopped along the way and ate at our favorite restaurant, The ChartHouse.

Happy 5th Birthday Lanerbugs!!

Wow I cannot believe you are already celebrating your 5th birthday! You are such a sweet boy and full of laughter and smiles. I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday and how happy we were to finally have our baby. I also remember going to the doctor and finding out that we were going to have a BOY and how excited we all were. You are a great big brother and we look forward to seeing you start Kindergarten this year!! We love you so much and pray that God continues to bless you with such a caring personality and love for Him.

Happy 4th of July!!

We had a great time today celebrating the fourth. Lane went to the parade in Walden today and loved it. He got lots of candy and a few toys.

After the parade we went to Uncle Doug and Aunt Mona's house to swim. Uncle Doug cooked hamburgers and hot dogs. Lane especially liked the beans!! The food was delicious and we had such a great time. Lane and Macie got to swim together and Avery loved kicking and playing in the pool too!

Vacation Bible School

Motto:
Know the truth!
Speak the truth!
Live the truth!

Lane and Avery attended Vaction Bible School at CookSprings in Huntsville this year. This is Lane's 2nd bible school and Avery's 1st. Lane has really blossomed in his knowledge of the bible. In fact, one of his teachers was telling me that all of the kids were being really loud and not listening in his class and he made the announcement to them that when they are bad they are making the devil happy and they are making Jesus sad. His teacher said that all of the little kids' eyes got really big!! A couple of mornings ago he woke up at 6:00 am to use the restroom and the first thing he said to me was "did you know that God's holy word is the bible?" He never ceases to amaze me. All of his teachers said how good he was and how excited he was to learn all of the hand motions to the music. He did a wonderful job in the program and was very attentive the whole time. He was so serious and in tune with God and it was so awesome to see him worship the Lord.

Happy Birthday Bamber!

Amber we wish you a very Happy 32nd Birthday today!!! You are a great sister and a wonderful aunt to Lane and Avery. Lane talks about you all the time and every time he gets in trouble he says he wants his Bamber! He was so excited that today was your birthday (partly because he knows that his is right after yours). I hope you have a fabulous day and we can celebrate many more birthdays to come.

P.S. I saw the unicorn cake pan at Mom's the other day so I think you should ask her to make it for you. I'm sure she wouldn't mind, she did Avery's.
