My Poppa and Me

My Poppa Nichols called last night and asked me if I wanted to go see the movie IronMan today. When I woke up this morning I told Mommy "do you know what today is? Today is tomorrow and that means my Poppa is taking me to see IronMan, just me and him." So... he came and picked me up this morning and off we went. I fell asleep in the beginning but when IronMan showed up Poppa woke me up so I could see it. It was so totally awesome!! Then he took me to McDonalds where I played video games and drank a chocolate shake. It was so good!! Then my parents came to get me and when Poppa drove off I got really sad and started to cry and I told my Mommy and Daddy that I was going to miss my Poppa.

Thank you Poppa -- Love, Lane

My Poppa Loves me too!!

Last week when I stayed with Poppa and GiGi he taught me how to clap! I had never clapped until Poppa got me so excited laughing at a frog and then he started clapping and I caught on. It was so fun. I love my Poppa's mustache too!

I love you Poppa -- Avery.

Princess Avery Ella!

I begged Mommy and GiGi to let me try on this awesome Hello Kitty Crown while we were shopping. Don't I look cute? I thought it went really well with my new dress Aunt Bamber bought me last weekend. Anyways, they didn't buy it because Mommy said I wouldn't keep it on.

So.....I went home and started looking for my own money to buy it with and look what I found!

It's actually money I found in Lane's piggy bank but I don't think he'll care. He likes to share and I bet he would like me to have the Hello Kitty Crown anyway. Maybe I should put on my pink sunglasses Bamber bought me to disguise myself in case someone sees me doing this.

Naah I'll just gather it up really fast and go!!

So... Here's the Buzzzzzz!!!!

Bees are NOT nice, only in Bee Movie, right? We got a call from the school today saying Lane had been stung not once but twice by a bee. Once on his nose and once on his leg. Therefore, we are not fans of bees anymore! After some Benadryl and Tylenol he is feeling better now.

"Hey Lane, sorry we stung ya dude.
I will tell the pollen jocks to leave ya alone."

His right eye, well a tad bit swollen.

but I still have a BIG smile!

Happy Memorial Day!

When I think of Memorial Day I cannot help but think of family get togethers, BBQ, swimming in the pool and watermelon. However, the most important thing that my father instilled in me is the importance of patriotism and recognizing the true meaning of Memorial Day. He taught me to be thankful for all of the men and women who have served in the armed forces. He also taught us that it isn't something we should just remember on Memorial Day but every day that we are able to practice the freedoms that we have in America.

I also will forever be grateful for my PePaw Chron who served in WWII. Every time I think of this holiday I am also reminded of the years he spent away from my grandmother serving our country. In my heart he is a true American Hero! He flew the American Flag in his yard for as long as I can remember, not just on the 4th of July, Veterans Day or Memorial Day, but year round. I also think it's funny how when we recognize the armed forces on holidays they are so humble and will even tell you that they do not need an applause or any kind of recognition because they proudly served our country because they wanted to and because they love America. However, you let a baseball player hit a homerun or break some kind of record and they act like they have saved the world and beat their chest and demand to be in the lime light and media to be recognized. It's also funny how athletes make more money than the men and women who are putting their lives in harms way every day to protect you and I and allow us to continue to have the freedoms that we so often take for granted in America. (Yikes! I think I am my Father's daughter.)

So... today I say thank you to all of those who not only serve our country or have served, but to the families who are doing without right now while their relatives are serving. Also, to the people who have been wounded or lost their lives fighting for our freedom I appreciate the sacrifices you and your family's have made and I will forever be grateful.

Remember the Lord Said "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13

11 Months Old!

It is so hard to believe that Avery is almost 1 year old. She is growing by leaps and bounds and God has truly blessed her with great health. She is now sitting independently and trying to pull up on things, but hasn't quite mastered that yet. Her smile can light up the room. Lane is so sweet to her and plays with her all the time. I NEVER have to get on to him for being too rough or being mean to her. He is such a good big brother and loves his Bella so much!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

Today is Scott's 34th Birthday. My he is really getting old. I might need to trade him in for a newer model. Just kidding!! Scott is a great husband, my best friend and a great father. I am very proud of Scott and his accomplishments over the last several years. Scott has managed to start his own business and in the last 3 years has become very successful. On our trips to San Diego and Ireland I saw that he was one of the youngest guys on both of these trips. I witnessed how much everyone respected him and tried to recruit him to go to work and sale for them. Over the last year especially, Scott has been the rock in our family. He missed so much work last year with my health and being pregnant with the twins but believe it or not God blessed his business last year more than ever and trust me, Scott has never failed to give God ALL the credit. I am very thankful that he has worked so hard to provide more than enough for our family which allows me to be able to stay home with the kids. I am so thankful that God put the two of us together and that my kids have the best Daddy in the whole wide world!!

Lunny Bunny's Big News!!

Well last Friday night Lundy's dream came true. Her boyfriend Rusty proposed to her at Perry's Steakhouse where they went on their first date. I am so excited for the both of them. Her ring is absolutely gorgeous and Rusty did a wonderful job designing it.

Lundy and I have been more like sisters than cousins. We were joined at the hip when we were younger and spent many afternoons riding our bikes, playing school, swimming, playing church, playing dolls, throwing clay balls at J... (well I won't mention any names), and although we are not physically together all the time like we were when we were younger our hearts have grown even closer over the years. We have smoked many cigarettes (candy of course) over long talks, drank many cups of grape Kool-Aid, gone on many trips to AK together, danced together in high school and lived together in college one semester. We have laughed together and cried together and now I can honestly say that I am so excited to be able to share the special moment of her getting enganged an planning her wedding. Since our childhood we have talked and dreamed about the moment that we would each walk down the aisle and wondered who the handsome guy would be I got my answer .... and now she has hers. Rusty is the "lucky" guy! Lundy is also the "lucky" girl because anyone who has been around the two of them know that his love for her is genuine.

So... Lunny Bunny we have waited a long time for this moment and from me to you I say "I love you so much and I cannot tell you how long I have waited for that phone call for you to say that you had found 'the one' and you were engaged. When you came over the other day and showed me your ring I thought it was absolutely gorgeous and it was so you! You are such a special person to me and I am so proud of you and happy that you can now begin the rest of your life together with Rusty. Congratulations and I can't wait to help you plan your wedding and look for your lovely dream dress, you are going to look amazing!"

Love you always,
Ker Ker
