Character Parade

Today at Lane's school they got to dress up as their favorite story book character. They were instructed to bring the book as their character also. Lane decided to dress up as the little boy from the Polar Express. So last night during the wind and pouring down rain, Lane's wonderful, devoted, loving, Mom (that would be me) went to JC Penney and bought him a solid blue robe and a set of long sleeve button up pajamas. Since we took him to the Polar Express in Palestine he had the real bell and punched ticket from his train ride so he took that to school as well.

PaPa John came over this morning and brought Lane breakfast and then took him to school. Lane was so excited.

Pumpkin Painting on the Porch!

Wednesday night Lane and I had Mommy and Me time while Bella and Daddy spent some quality time together. I love painting pumpkins rather than carving than carving them because they aren't quite as messy and they don't stink!

Lane decided he wanted a ghost pumpkin like Mommy's so he did one on the other side of his spider.

Fall Fun!

This past weekend Tim, Amber and Caden came down to split fire wood and go to the Fall Festival at Dad and Mom's church. We had lunch at my parent's house on Saturday and went outside to let the kids play while Tim and Amber worked the log splitter and got firewood.

Poppa and his boys.

Big Girl Bella on the 4-Wheeler.

Where ever Poppa is, Bella is not far from him
or as you can see here, in his lap.

Big Brother riding lil' sis around the pasture.

Then it was off to the Fall Festival for some family fun!

Bella is such a pistol and Lane is so calm and easy going.
That about sums it up!

I dressed up as white trash and Amber dressed up as a 60's chick.

Lane blowing the siren horn on the fire truck.
These firemen were so nice.

Bella and Caden loved jumping in the moon walk.

We got to visit with Nannie at the festival too.

Lane getting his face painted. He is in love with this girl!

After the festival Amber, Tim and Caden came back to our house to spend the night. Amber and I made cheesecake snacks while the guys watched the UFC fight. We also let the kids exchange Halloween gifts. They were so excited!

What a great weekend! We are so blessed.

Bella Butter Ball!

Well if you didn't already know Bella loves butter. We catch her getting into the tub of butter in the fridge ALL the time. This past weekend Scott and I were in the media room in the recliners and could hear Avery behind us trying to get something open. We both turned around at the same time only to find her diggin in the butter tub!
These are actually pictures I took yesterday as she sat comfortably in the recliner watching cartoons and eating butter. We never let her just sit and eat butter, we do get on to her and scold her. However, yesterday Daddy was at work and I thought it would be a great photo op so I took advatage of it. I don't think Daddy checks our blog very much so he will never know!

Caught in the act as I said "Bella" and she says, "yes"

Mmmm so good.

I think I should send this to Brummel and Brown.

Lane's Fall Festival at School

Army Airborne Ranger and Bella the LadyBug

Last night we had Lane's Family Fall Festival at school. We got all dressed up and arrived there only to find out that we were the ONLY parents that dressed up our kids. I could not believe it. What Fall Festival do you go to that kids don't dress up. It was really wierd to say the least. The funny thing is Lane never noticed he was the only kid, besides his sister, that was dressed up. Since he was in camo he blended in pretty well! All the years he was at Glenwood and we went to their Fall Festival everyone, including teachers, were dressed up. Oh well, I guess that's another one of those differences between Private School and Public School! Now we know. We got over it pretty fast, besides the fact that everyone stopped us to comment on our lil' ladybug!!

Thank you MiMi it was a hit!

Fall Flowers

Today my Dad called and asked Avery and I to lunch at Rancho Grande. We had a wonderful time visiting and eating together.

Afterwards, Avery and I headed to Hobby Lobby and bought flowers for Emma's grave. As always Avery was picking up flowers everywhere as we went down the aisles. She was so excited and kept saying "flowers, so pretty," over and over.

Avery helped and took the old flowers out at the cemetary and helped put the new ones in. As we were leaving she turned around and said "bye Emma, bye, bye Emma" I burst into tears as it just broke my heart. She knew who was there, she knew why we were there and told her goodbye." My how I wish there were never goodbyes! I miss her so much.

Though He brings grief, He will show compassion, so great is His unfailing love. --Lamentations 3:32

Emma's flowers.

While I am happy to see the leaves change colors and the holidays just around the corner this time of the year always seems to be the hardest.

BUT...

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance. --Ecclesiastes 3:1, 4

U2!

Last night Scott and I went to the U2 Concert with some of his friends. We enjoyed the concert. Unfortunately for me I didn't know too many of the songs but the music was great! The stage was really cool and the graphics and technology they used to put on the concert was really cool!
